BioNeutral Group, Inc. is a publicly traded specialty life science company, organized in 2003 to commercialize a novel combinational chemistry-based technology which can neutralize harmful environmental contaminants, toxins and dangerous micro-organisms including bacteria, viruses and spores.
The formulations are green and include natural and common ingredients which are found in baby products and in the foods we eat. We combine these widely-used compounds in unique ways to create enhanced results.
BioNeutral’s proprietary platform technology has been proven effective in surface, water and airborne applications. The products include BioNeutralizers and ChemoNeutralizers.
BIONEUTRALIZERS, based on our proprietary Ygiene™ platform formulation, disinfect, decontaminate and sterilize. BioNeutral intends to market the broadest-based, fastest acting, most effective and safest antimicrobial known. This class of products has important applications for:

Technology
BioNeutral has two different technology platforms which underpin the Ygiene™ and Ogiene™ formulations.
The formulation has several interesting characteristics/capabilities:
- BioNeutral has developed a family of "green" formulations which are sporicidal, bactericidal and viracidal – at room temperature.
- We have developed the chemical technology and understand how to manipulate the formulations to address requirements that can vary the "kill time" (from seconds to minutes) and the breadth of kill (class of organisms – up to the most difficult to eradicate - spores) depending upon the needs of the market.
- The ingredients, when combined, have lower toxicity and far greater efficacy then anticipated. The formulations are stable, non corrosive, non flammable and water soluble.
- The formulations can be applied as a liquid, wet wipe, spray, mist/fog or foam/froth and can be applied to air, surface and water.

These exceptional properties of Ygiene™ are a result of the manner in which the chemical components are assembled and the resulting chemistry exhibited by these formulations.
- Ygiene™ is peroxy based and can deliver more active ingredient than any currently available antimicrobial. This is a result of our know how which allows the formulation components to act as a latent source or reservoir of active ingredients.
- Ygiene™ has lasting power that far exceeds competitive products. In addition with a low initial active level, Ygiene™ is mild. For example, with a low initial level of actives Ygiene™ is not corrosive. In a very demanding iron corrosion test we have not found a commercial antimicrobial product which is as noncorrosive as Ygiene™.

There are three categories of Ygiene formulations that are intended to serve a broad range of markets:
- Military/first responders/hospital sterilant/specialty industrial This is kill on contact for anthrax and all micro organisms. Application instructions and protection against direct contact with skin and eyes is required.
- Hospital/health care /mold/industrial applications include high level disinfection for hospitals and other health care facilities, eradication of mold and industrial cleaning in food preparation and other demanding environments (some application instructions and some protection against direct contact with skin and eyes is required). Will kill organisms in under 1 minute and will perform to a very high standard.
- Consumer products/light industrial/health care – General areas of the hospital, nursing home, physician or dental office. Very mild yet sporacidal, bactericidal and viracidal. Can be used as a superior skin sanitizer.
In each category, Ygiene produces results superior to those formulations presently in the market.
OGIENE
BioNeutral's Ogiene formulations complex a broad range of dangerous and noxious chemicals and removes them from the air. Our Ogiene™ formulations interact with the functional organic or inorganic groups of the harmful gases.
Our Ogiene™ formulations can complex, convert to salts or irreversibly react with toxic/odorous gases and render them harmless. These formulations are also water based and can be applied to air, surfaces and water. These gasses include:
- Formaldehyde (presently a considerable problem with temporary dwellings used by FEMA to house victims of natural disasters)
- Hydrogen cyanide (produced when burning certain materials),
- Ammonia
- Carbon dioxide (byproducts of animal waster in confined quarters – eg pigs/poultry),
- Sulfur dioxide/ nitrogen oxide (greenhouse gasses) and other dangerous chemicals.
- We are in advanced testing utilizing air handling equipment with our technology to clean the air of dangerous chemicals.
BIONEUTRAL'S APPLICATION FOR ADDRESSING FORMALDEHYDE IN TEMPORARY AND PERMANENT HOUSING STRUCTURES:
While BioNeutral is actively developing products designed to address a variety of microbial and chemical issues, there is an urgent need for a solution to the serious problem of high levels of formaldehyde that has been detected in temporary and, more recently, permanent housing structures.
There are over 100,000 men, woman and children living in app 40,000 trailers in New Orleans and the Gulf states. Testing by the Centers for Disease Control has shown that the average amount of formaldehyde contained in these trailers exceeds safety levels with significant implications for public health. There is a broader market in excess of 1 million trailers and temporary housing throughout the United States used as schools, by the military and sold to the recreational market.
- FEMA, state and local governmental departments are committed to moving the residents, at enormous cost, but have no place to move them to. There has not been any technology which has been shown to be effective in addressing this problem – until now.
- Field testing has conclusively shown that the company’s ChemoNeutralizer is extremely effective in eliminating formaldehyde from the air. The formaldehyde is complexed and cannot be re-released into the environment or be modified into another dangerous substance.
- The test results show that the poison is eliminated down to the lowest risk levels for long term exposure and are expected to meet anticipated new regulations which manufacturers are required to meet and have thus far failed to achieve. Follow-up measurements showed a return to pre-treatment levels.
- Follow-up experiments with a passive static scavenging system has led to the development of a fan-based filtration system (using the Ogiene™ CE formulation) that is expected to continually maintain minimal risk levels of formaldehyde.
The ChemoNeutralizer formulation has been tested in trailers and the test results have been incorporated into a summary report and press release (see graph below). The company has been in touch with the CDC, FEMA, EPA, trailer manufacturers and the Sierra Club who were responsible for bringing the problem to the awareness of the public and to hold the government responsible for addressing this disgrace. Average formaldehyde levels, as shown by CDC testing are, at least 9-times greater than recommended long term exposure.
OTHER OGIENE APPLICATIONS - ADDRESSING FORMALDEHYDE IN APPAREL:
BioNeutral's Ogiene technology also has other applications: namely neutralizing harmful chemicals that are present in women's apparel due to some companies' manufacturing processes. Formaldehyde has been discovered in well known brands of expensive lingerie, and Ogiene applications will allow consumers you to clean with the essence of nature while neutralizing harmful chemicals found in apparel.
Many fabrics are treated with formaldehyde resins. Allergic or irritant reactions to clothing is more often a result of the rubber materials, formaldehyde finishing resins, chemical additives, dyes, glues and tanning agents used in processing the fabric or clothing or metallic fasteners. Elastic in clothing material such as brassieres and the waistband in underwear or pants can cause contact dermatitis where there is contact of the clothing item with the skin. The areas involved are subjected to friction and perspiration, which contributes to the uncomfortable skin lesions.
Textile formaldehyde resins are used in materials such as cotton or cotton/polyester blend fabrics to make the fabric wrinkle-resistant. There are nine formaldehyde resins in current use in the United States and MOST do not release a significant amount of formaldehyde as older formulations in the past.

Independent Laboratory Testing Shows BioNeutral's Hospital Grade Ygiene(TM) Eliminates Aspergillus Niger (Black Mold) Spores
BioNeutral Group, Inc. ('BioNeutral') (OTC Bulletin Board: BONU), a chemical technology-based Life Science company announced today that independent laboratory testing performed by ATS Labs shows that Aspergillus Niger mold spores are completely eliminated by the Company's Ygiene(TM) Hospital Grade antimicrobial in record time.
ATS Labs, using the EPA required Fungicidal Use Dilution test, showed that approximately 2.5 million Aspergillus Niger spores were totally eliminated within two (2) minutes. Aspergillus Niger is a type of black mold spore which is a prolific human heath threatening problem. The spore form of this black mold is particularly difficult to eliminate and total eradication is required in order to alleviate associated health threatening issues.
BioNeutral's Chief Science Officer, Dr. Andy Kielbania, PhD. stated, 'These results are particularly important because they both validate our internal lab testing protocols and also confirm the speed, efficacy and power of our Ygiene(TM) antimicrobials. The sporicidal efficacy against Aspergillus Niger (Black Mold) is a key accomplishment for our company.' He continued, 'These independent lab test results represent a significant achievement. Obviously the new strain of H1N1 virus (Swine Flu) will not present any problem for our formula to achieve a total Kill in record time.'
In an article in Environmental Business International, Inc., The Chelsea Group, an Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) consulting and market research firm, estimates the IAQ market caused by toxic mold to be $2 to $3 billion annually and Anthony Worthan, President and COO of Air Quality Sciences, an IAQ consulting firm in Atlanta, estimates the IAQ market to be growing at an annual rate of 25%.
